Mirrored acrylic discs are suitable for a huge range of applications in commercial environments and around the home thanks to their excellent impact resistance and light weight. Key features: reflective qualities of glass mirror lightweight acrylic construction impact resistant easy to clean supplied with protective film on one side benefitting from all of the safety features acrylic affords, circular acrylic mirrors are perfect for use in spaces where safety is paramount such as nurseries, playgrounds, gardens and stables. In addition to being very resistant to impact, they also will not shatter as glass does and are very easily kept clean with a soft cloth and warm soapy water. Whilst acrylic mirror discs have excellent reflective properties, they are not as rigid as glass mirrors and are therefore prone to distortion. To combat this, we recommend that the circular plastic mirrors are bonded to a flat rigid substrate such as plywood or mdf to minimise the distortion of the image. For any mirrored disc more than 100cm in diameter we would recommend using mirrored dibond as it is far more rigid in larger sizes which will greatly reduce any optical distortion, though dibond has a slightly diminished reflective quality.
