The 150-175mm creosoted cundy strainer post is a robust, peeled timber post with a naturally uneven surface that varies in diameter throughout its length. Unlike machined round posts, this design gives a more rustic appearance combined with strength from the thickness, making it ideal for heavy duty applications like agricultural or boundary fencing. With a creosote treatment designed to extend the post’s life up to 40 years, it is made to withstand harsh outdoor conditions.
These larger, thicker posts are perfect for use as strainers, essential for supporting tensioned wire in agricultural fencing or securing corners in a fence line. Their durability and sturdiness make them a reliable choice for long-term fencing projects.
Sawn from slow-grown european redwood, primarily pine, the wood is dried to below 28% moisture content before treatment. This drying process allows the open cell structure of the redwood to absorb creosote deeply when applied under pressure at 90 c. The treatment ensures that these posts resist rot and decay for decades. The colour of the creosote may range from light brown to almost black, but this variation does not impact quality or longevity.
