This magnificent antique victorian crystal brooch is set with a large clear rock crystal in the centre, with twelve smaller stones bordering, culminating in a large dropper at the bottom. They’re set in a silver frame and have been skilfully cut with a dazzling array of triangular facets at the back, allowing them to glisten beautifully as they catch the light. Rock crystal is a colourless and pure form of quartz that is said to bring about positive energy and clarity of mind. It was once believed to be a form of solidified ice that could never be thawed due to its bright white sparkle that beautifully mimics light glistening on a frozen lake. All the stones are in excellent condition, however, one has been replaced over time with a matching clear topaz just above the dropper. It’s a distinctive victorian statement piece from the late 19th century and fitted with a secure pin and c-catch at the back so it remains secure when worn.
