The lamp was designed for ten offices and considered incredibly unique, thanks to its simple and robust, yet ergonomic design. The central lamp body uses neither screws nor welds. The functional aesthetic of the 304 is undeniable and the design of components like its arms, body, brackets and joining points is incredibly original, not to mention ahead of its time. Le corbusier fell for the modern design of lampe gras and started using the lamps for his projects early on. Nowadays, the lampe gras lamp is a popular collector’s item all over the world especially in france, the united states and japan. It is also available for direct wall installation without an on of switch version 304 and with a power cord version 304ca .
