The makita 619496-0 is a genuine oem armature for the dhp458, ddf458, bhp458, and bdf458 combi drills, designed to restore full motor performance when the original rotor is worn, burnt, or damaged. As the rotating core of the brushed motor, the armature works in conjunction with the field coil and carbon brushes to convert electrical energy into the torque and speed the drill needs. It is built around a stacked steel lamination core with copper windings and a precision-machined commutator, manufactured to makita's own tolerances for concentricity and commutator roundness. This is a like-for-like replacement that fits directly into the motor housing without modification to housings or fasteners. It is the appropriate repair part when a drill exhibits heavy sparking, loss of power, overheating, or erratic motor behaviour common symptoms of armature wear or failure on site. Using a genuine makita part ensures the replacement meets the original design specification, maintaining the tool's balance, vibration characteristics, and runtime.
