Bodega chacra is an argentinian winery, based in the region of río negro in northern patagonia. Its founder, piero incisa della rocchetta, hails from the region of tuscany in italy, and one of the country’s most famous wine-making families. He places a firm emphasis on the concept of terroir, which shines through in his range of chardonnay and pinot noir wines. This particular bottle is where the worlds of burgundy and patagonia meet. It is remarkably elegant, with a saline texture imparted by the calcareous content of the río negro soil. It was aged for 10 months, in a combination of concrete eggs, french oak barrels and stainless steel.
