The gobillard family’s foray into winemaking began in 1933, when gervais gobillard spent his life’s earnings on a single hectare of vineyards in hautvillers, home of the world-famous dom perignon. However, the company as we know it today was established in 1983, when the fils of the family philippe, jean françois, thierry, and françoise founded the modern-day cellar. The prestige millésime is intense and full-bodied in the mouth, with some fantastic tertiary flavours from ageing on the lees. It spends a minimum of 5 years in the cellar before disgorgement. The prestige range is the crown jewel of jm gobillard et fils, packed with mature flavours of lemon rind, orchard fruits, white peony flowers, and a smattering of nuts and pastries.
