Upon tasting the local wines, he began to search for vineyards instead, settling on a special location on mount veeder. The hess select range is a perfect balance of affordability and undeniable quality, carrying on the legacy of donald hess. On the palate, this red blend combines an intense explosion of fruits with a subtle earthy side. The tannins are fine and drying but are balanced out with juicy acidity and perceptibly sweet cherry notes. Look for flavours of blueberry, blackberry and tart plum, with background notes of black pepper and liquorice. It’s a brilliant wine for pairing with roasted vegetables, three-bean chilli, or a prime rib.
