Drink it now or cellar for up to 10 years. No need to decant, but best to open it half an hour before service. Lingua franca is a young american winery located in the willamette valley in oregon in the beautiful eola-amity hills area. The company, founded in 2012 and now part of the constellation group, produces high-quality wines from pinot noir and chardonnay, which in this american state manage to obtain great results. The pinot noir grapes are selected and hand-picked from some of the estate's best sites planted with the pn777 clone on gelderman-jory soils, and from two other blocks planted with the pn115 clone. Fermentation is spontaneous and takes place in medium-sized concrete and stainless steel tanks. The finished wine ages for 12 months in french barriques and 4 in tanks, before being released on the market. The estate pinot noir is a fragrant and lively wine with a fresh aromatic profile and notes of raspberry and cherry, pomegranate, and rose petals. On the palate, it is juicy and soft. It has a medium body, velvety tannins, a strong mineral vein, and some savory notes. The finish is long and fruity. It makes an excellent pair with cheeseburgers, teriyaki pork, veal chops, and pasta with ragù.
