Native to north africa, the atlas cedar is a huge and imposing tree, 25 to 50 meters tall, which thrives in the mountainous areas of the moroccan middle atlas at an altitude between 1500 and 2000 meters.
This species has also been introduced to france, where it forms magnificent forests.
