Limited to 7,000 pieces worldwide, the blade consists of a remarkable 264 layers of damasteel in a unique pattern called svavner with a hardness grade of 60 hrc.The corian surface is composed of a mixture of acrylic resin and natural minerals, with the scales taking on the appearance of natural stone, the perfect embodiment of sophisticated elegance. The damasteel represents represents the work of craftspeople that dates back more than one thousand years. Damast steel is created through a patented metallurgical method that starts with a gas atomization of steel during which molten steel is forced through a nozzle and aerosolized. The powders are layered, sealed, compacted and bonded densified by a process called hot isostatic pressing hip . The layering process predefines the pattern of the final product. The material then undergoes forging, texturing, rolling and twisting to obtain its unique pattern, a process similar to the traditional technique. The damast steel pattern becomes visible only once the surface has been etched, whereby the two different types of steel used in different layers react differently to the acid oxidation of the etching due to their components.
