Each health and social care workplace may have slightly different policies, so it is recommended to familiarise yourself with these policies and procedures.1
Introduction and overviewin section one, you will be shown the effects of fire in the workplace and will also discover the responsibilities that both you and your employer have. 2
What is fire in section two, we outline the elements that make a fire, as well as the different types of fire and how fires can spread.3
Preventing firein section three, you will learn ways of identifying and preventing potential causes of fire.4
In the event of a firein section four, you will see some scenarios. You will then be asked if you can identify anything that might be wrong in these.5
Fire fighting equipmentin section five, you will learn about the different types of fire extinguishers. You will learn when and how they should be used. You will also be shown how to tackle a fire and when this should be done.6
