The name ylang ylang is derived from the indonesian word for wilderness , which helps to explain how it naturally grows. Despite the huge area over which it grows there is one part of the world that has really cornered the ylang ylang market. That area is the comoros, off the eastern coast of africa. It has been estimated that over 80% of the ylang ylang produced worldwide comes from the comoros islands. The climate here is ideal for ylang ylang production, with mild, tropical weather and very little in the way of cyclones that can plague other nearby areas. Unsurprisingly our ylang ylang is also sourced from the comoros. Crucially, however, our manufacturing partner is sedex-registered.
