Do they offer international shipping?

Yes. GS Equestrian ships internationally but delivery times and costs vary by country. Customers outside the UK should check shipping rates at checkout or contact customer service for a quote.

Can I book a saddle fitting?

Many GS locations and partner fitters offer saddle fitting. It’s best to call ahead to book an appointment. Fitting services sometimes have a fee, but that fee can be offset when you buy a saddle through GS.

What is the returns policy?

GS allows returns within a specified period for most unused items with tags. Certain items like used showwear or personalised goods may be non-returnable. Always check the return policy on the product page or ask customer service for clarity.

Are there repair services available?

Yes. GS can arrange repairs for leather tack, rugs, and some boots. Minor mending is often handled in-house or by local specialists. For major restorations, they can recommend reputable repairers.

GS Equestrian UK: Your Local Saddle for Quality, Service, and Passion

Who is GS Equestrian?

GS Equestrian is a specialist equestrian store in the UK that blends practical gear with genuine equine passion. It feels like a friendly stable-side chat: knowledgeable, down-to-earth, and ready to help. Whether you are a weekend hack rider or a competitive showjumper, GS Equestrian has built a reputation for delivering products and advice that riders trust.

What products does GS Equestrian offer?

Tack and saddlery

The core of GS Equestrian is tack and saddlery. From everyday bridles to specialist dressage saddles, their range covers the essentials and the niceties. They source leather pieces, synthetic alternatives, and fittings from trusted brands. You can expect well-made items designed to match comfort for horse and rider alike.

Riding wear and clothing

Riders need clothing that performs. GS stocks breeches, jackets, base layers, and show wear that work in the real world — durable, breathable, and often stylish. They understand the difference a good pair of breeches makes on a long ride or a high-pressure class.

Horse care and grooming

Grooming kits, shampoos, supplements, and first-aid items make up the horse care selection. GS emphasizes products that support daily horse health. That includes practical items for muddy mornings and serious care for injury recovery or skin conditions.

Stable supplies and turnout

From Rug and boots to feed buckets and stable tools, GS covers the stable yard. They pick turnout gear for the UK climate — warm, waterproof, and well-fitted. The goal is gear that stands up to rain, wind, and the occasional adventure.

Why riders choose GS Equestrian

Expert advice you can use

One of GS Equestrian’s standout features is the staff. They are riders and industry people who give clear, usable advice. Need help measuring your horse for a rug? Want to know if a particular saddle tree suits your horse’s shape? They walk you through it like a trusted friend in the yard.

Quality brands and value

GS balances high-end labels with solid, affordable choices. That means you don’t always pay premium for every item. They trust brands that last, which reduces repeat buys and gives you true value for money.

Personalized service

Whether in-store or online, GS aims for a personal touch. They handle fittings, bespoke orders, and product questions without the corporate runaround. It feels like dealing with a small business — responsive, flexible, and focused on the customer.

Shopping experience: online and in-store

Clear online browsing

The online shop at GS Equestrian is practical and user-friendly. Categories are clear, product pages list key specs, and images show the items from different angles. They also include sizing guides and helpful notes so you can make an informed decision from home.

Hands-on in the store

Visiting the store gives a different experience. You can handle leather, test the weight of a boot, or try on show jacket sizes. Staff take time to fit boots and suggest saddle pads. This hands-on approach saves time and avoids surprises when items arrive at your home.

Click-and-collect and delivery

GS offers click-and-collect for those who want to pick items up quickly. For deliveries, they partner with reliable couriers and often provide tracking. Shipping within the UK is straightforward; international orders can be arranged too, though with different transit times and costs.

Fitting, measuring, and custom options

Saddle fitting and consultations

Saddle fit matters. GS offers advice and, in some locations, saddle fitting services. They assess saddle fit for both horse and rider, looking at balance, weight distribution, and how the saddle sits during movement. A well-fitted saddle improves performance and prevents soreness.

Custom bridles and tack

If you want a unique bridle or a custom-colored rug, GS can arrange special orders. Custom pieces allow riders to match their kit, address specific fit issues, or select materials that last longer. It’s a good option for riders who need something beyond standard sizes.

Clothing alterations and advice

Riders often need fit tweaks for show wear. GS provides suggestions for tailoring and sometimes offers basic alterations. A small hem or a sleeve tweak can make a big difference in comfort and appearance at a show.

Brands and partnerships

Trusted equestrian labels

GS works with well-known equestrian brands across saddlery, clothing, and horse care. They choose suppliers with track records for quality. When you buy from GS, you’re often getting items that other riders and professionals recommend.

Supporting emerging brands

GS also provides shelf space for smaller, up-and-coming brands. They recognize innovation in materials and design. That helps passionate small businesses grow and gives riders fresh choices that might be more affordable or unique.

Local makers and bespoke products

Where possible, GS supports local makers and craftspeople. Handmade leatherwork, bespoke embroidery, and local textiles are part of their appeal. Supporting local creators keeps money in the community and often results in higher-quality, longer-lasting goods.

Customer service and warranty

Easy returns and exchanges

GS keeps returns simple. If a product doesn’t fit or meet expectations, you can return or exchange it within the stated timeframe. They outline return policies clearly so shoppers know what to expect. That peace of mind encourages people to buy with confidence.

Product warranties and guarantees

Many items come with manufacturer warranties and GS supports those claims. For leather goods and technical kit, warranties cover defects in materials and workmanship. GS helps process warranty claims and liaises with suppliers when needed.

Responsive support channels

Phone, email, and in-store contact are all available. GS aims to respond fast. They avoid long wait times and give direct answers. It’s an approach that makes customers feel respected and valued.

Community involvement and events

Local shows and sponsorships

GS Equestrian often appears at local shows and events. They sponsor classes, run trade stands, and sometimes offer prize vouchers. Seeing them at events allows riders to meet staff, try gear, and get immediate advice before a class.

Workshops and fittings days

From saddle-fit days to boot-fitting workshops, GS organizes practical events for riders. These events are hands-on and educational. They demystify fitting processes and give riders the confidence to choose the right gear.

Supporting charities and schools

GS regularly supports local riding schools and charity projects. Donations, gear vouchers, and event fundraising help maintain community riding programs. This gives back to the very people who create the equestrian scene in the UK.

Tips for buying equestrian gear at GS

Measure carefully

Always measure your horse and yourself before buying. A quick tape can save time and money. GS provides measurement guides and will help you interpret them. When in doubt, ask for help — it’s quicker than a return.

Start with the basics

Begin with essential gear: a well-fitting saddle, reliable bridle, and comfortable riding boots. Premium extras are fun but basics keep riding safe and enjoyable. GS has smart recommendations for quality starter kits and upgrade paths.

Look for seasonal sales

GS runs seasonal promotions when new ranges arrive. Sales can be a great time to pick up winter rugs, turnout boots, or last-season colors at a discount. Keep an eye on newsletters or social media updates to catch deals early.

Sustainability and ethical choices

Leather sourcing and care

GS is aware of leather sourcing concerns. They aim to stock leather goods from reputable tanneries and suppliers who follow responsible practices. They also promote proper care routines to extend the life of leather items, reducing waste overall.

Eco-friendly product options

Many customers ask for sustainable choices. GS has expanded eco-friendly options — recycled fabrics, low-impact dyes, and biodegradable grooming products. Small changes in materials can make a big environmental difference over time.

Repair and reuse

Instead of discarding a near-perfect saddle or rug, GS encourages repairs. Reconditioning leather, replacing buckles, or mending rugs keeps items in use longer. Repair services support sustainability and save money.

Common questions riders ask

What fits my horse?

Horse shape varies widely. GS advises a hands-on approach: measure spinal length, feel muscle shape, and assess movement. Saddle fitters and experienced staff can help match products to individual horses, reducing guesswork.

Can I return show clothing after an event?

Return policies often exclude worn show clothing for hygiene reasons. GS will specify which items can be returned post-event. If you’re unsure, ask before you buy — save the hassle later.

How do I choose a brand?

Choose brands based on your priorities: durability, price, style, or ethical sourcing. GS staff can recommend brands aligned with your goals. Try gear where possible and prioritize fit over label.

GS Equestrian in the UK is more than a shop. It’s a place where experience meets practical help, where products are chosen with riders and horses in mind, and where service feels personal. If you value knowledgeable staff, quality gear, and a community-minded approach, GS offers a compelling mix. Shopping there means getting sensible advice, solid warranties, and options that suit many budgets and riding styles. For new riders, seasoned competitors, and stable owners, GS is the kind of store that earns trust through consistent service and good products.
