Baker Ross is a well-known UK-based retailer that focuses on arts and crafts supplies for children, schools, clubs and creative adults. Think of it as a one-stop shop for stickers, craft kits, seasonal decorations, and classroom resources. If you're planning a school project, a birthday party, or a rainy day of making things, Baker Ross is usually on the shortlist.
There are plenty of craft stores, but Baker Ross has a few advantages that make it stand out. First, it caters heavily to children and educators, so products are designed to be easy, safe, and fun. Second, the range is huge—everything from glitter glue to pre-cut felt shapes. Third, they sell in bulk, which is perfect for schools and party planners. All of that makes Baker Ross practical, affordable, and easy to use.
Busy adults need quick solutions. Baker Ross offers kits where instructions are clear and the messy guesswork is reduced. Teachers love it because lessons can be planned quickly. Parents like it because activities arrive nearly ready to go. That's a big selling point when time is tight.
Baker Ross tracks holidays and trends. Whether it’s Halloween masks, Christmas tree craft kits, or summer outdoor activities, they release timely products that match school calendars and family needs. This seasonal rhythm keeps customers coming back.
The product list is wide. You’ll find art supplies like paints and brushes, craft tools like scissors and glue, and finished party items like themed cutouts. There are also educational aids, sensory toys, and premade craft packs. The variety means you can outfit a classroom or a family craft cupboard in one go.
Kits are a highlight. They often include all pieces, templates, and instructions. Themes range from animals and pirates to space and princesses. Kits simplify crafting and are great gifts, party activities, and school resources.
For schools and nurseries, Baker Ross offers bulk packs and classroom boxes. Bulk pom-poms, sequins, pipe cleaners and stickers save money and reduce repeat shopping. Classroom boxes often combine several materials into one cost-effective bundle.
Safety matters when kids are involved. Baker Ross places emphasis on safety standards and child-friendly designs. Materials are selected to be non-toxic and suitable for children. The company also tends to include age recommendations and clear warnings where needed.
Many items, especially paints and glues, are marketed as non-toxic. This is comforting for parents. Still, it’s wise to supervise younger children and double-check packaging for allergy information or small parts.
Products include age guides to help you choose the right level of difficulty. For younger kids, look for larger pieces and simpler instructions. For older children, there are more advanced kits and fine-detail tools that require adult supervision.
Baker Ross balances price and value. Individual items are often inexpensive, and bulk deals bring costs down further. Schools and clubs will find the pricing competitive, especially when buying in larger quantities. For casual shoppers, occasional discounts and seasonal sales add extra savings.
Teachers and bulk buyers can often access special offers or trade pricing. This helps stretch limited classroom budgets. If you run a club or a school, look into their grouping options to secure better rates.
While the cost is reasonable, you should set expectations. Some premium materials (like professional-grade brushes) aren’t the focus—Baker Ross aims at fun, practical items. For most school and hobby uses, the quality is more than adequate.
The Baker Ross website is built to help you find things fast. Categories, filters and search functions narrow down choices quickly. Photos and product descriptions give a clear idea of what you’re buying. Delivery options and stock levels are shown, which helps with planning.
Delivery options typically include standard and faster services. For bulk orders, allow extra time. Returns are accepted under certain conditions—check their policy for damaged or incorrect items. Keeping order confirmations and photos of any issues speeds up resolution.
Customer support is reachable through email and phone. Schools and businesses sometimes get dedicated help with large orders. Response times vary, so contact them early if you have complex requirements or tight deadlines.
Baker Ross isn’t just a shop—they provide creative ideas. Project guides, downloadable templates, and blog posts offer step-by-step instructions and inspiration. This helps when you want to try something new but don’t know where to start.
The site and catalogues often include printable templates for masks, cards and decorations. These are great for teachers creating lesson plans or parents planning a themed party. Templates save prep time and make crafts more accessible.
Short videos demonstrate techniques and finished projects. Watching a craft being made helps you judge difficulty and time needed. Social media shows customer projects and reviews, providing real-world ideas and encouragement.
Like many retailers, Baker Ross faces questions about packaging and product sourcing. They have taken steps to reduce waste and offer recyclable materials on some products. However, crafting inherently involves consumables, so consider reusing or recycling where possible.
Some products come with minimal packaging or recyclable materials. When possible, choose items with less plastic and repurpose craft leftovers. Teachers can turn unused materials into mixed craft boxes for future projects.
Opt for wooden or recycled-paper items when available. Encourage kids to craft with natural materials like leaves and twigs from the garden. Small choices add up and make crafting kinder to the planet.
Baker Ross works for more than school projects. Think birthday parties, family craft nights, holiday decorations, community events, and fundraising activities. Their products adapt well to different group sizes and skills.
Buy themed craft kits for parties to keep children entertained and create memorable take-home gifts. Kits save setup time, reduce mess and give kids a sense of accomplishment when they leave with something they made.
Community centers and fundraisers can use Baker Ross supplies for workshops and stalls. Selling handmade items or charging a small fee to participate can help raise funds while engaging the community.
Customer feedback is mixed but mostly positive. Many parents praise the ease-of-use and value for money. Teachers appreciate the bulk-buy options. Some customers note variability in quality between items, which is common for large retailers. Reading reviews for specific products helps manage expectations.
Praise often centers on convenience, variety and affordability. Criticisms usually mention occasional missing pieces or lower-than-expected durability on certain items. The majority of customers find the pros outweigh the cons.
Experienced buyers recommend checking quantities against your needs, ordering slightly more for large groups, and keeping spare glue and tapes on hand. They also suggest reading product reviews and following recommended ages for best results.
In the UK, Baker Ross sits between big box stores and small boutique craft shops. It offers scale, variety and price points that small independent stores may not match. For schools and groups, its bulk options are particularly valuable. For casual crafters, the variety invites experimentation without a hefty investment.
Other craft retailers may offer higher-end materials or specialized tools. Use Baker Ross for volume and themed projects, and pair it with specialist stores when you need premium supplies or technical items like kiln-fired clays or professional-grade paints.
The craft market is evolving. DIY culture and a focus on mindfulness and learning keep demand steady. Baker Ross is likely to keep expanding seasonal ranges and digital resources, catering to both educators and at-home parents looking for creative outlets.
In short, Baker Ross UK is a practical, accessible source for school and children's crafts. It provides a broad range of products, useful kits, and bulk options that save time and money. While not a specialist for high-end professional supplies, it fills a vital role for educators, parents and party planners across the UK. If you want to keep kids busy, decorate a classroom, or stock a craft cupboard, Baker Ross is worth a look.
